The Collibri
Backgluing Machine enables sewn book blocks to be glued off and
lined with ultimate versatility – a wide range of formats
and gluing methods is available – all with exceptional book
quality.
The Collibri offers impressive advantages
• Book block thickness from 1/8" to 3 1/8"
• Max. spine length 20"
• Short changeover times
• Various gluing methods
• Modular design – for one-shot or two-shot glue application
Shortest changeover times
In line with current market trends the Collibri is positioned for
economical production of large as well as small runs. The result
is a highly automated machine with extremely short set-up times.
To start a new job the machine operator simply enters the block
size on the control panel and within less than one minute the machine
has completed all necessary production settings.
Various gluing methods
Emulsion cold glue, hotmelt, or two-shot can be interchangeably
used on the Collibri. The glue level is controlled automatically
by a sensor, while uniform glue consistency is maintained by a pneumatic
glue pump. These two elements ensure consistent glue application
for all glue types. In emulsion cold glue and combined two-shot
processes the moisture of the applied glue is extracted in a newly
developed infrared section with infrared radiators and an air-circulating
blower.
Reliable lining station
The liners are fed from a wide roll that is mounted transversely
to the book block. Compared to machines with longitudinal liner
rolls much fewer roll changes are needed, which considerably shortens
the set-up time and simplifies the inventory control for liner rolls.
The liner-pressing station integrated in the Collibri ensures perfect
book blocks.
